About us
We create better lives with high frequency ultrasound therapy
TOOsonix was founded in 2017 by two industry experts with a lifetime of experience within the use of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for medical purposes.
We set out to create something that would completely change the way that skin-related conditions were treated. We started by developing a new and unique high-frequency technology, and we now have devices that cures skin cancer and many other diseases and conditions in the human dermis and epidermis.
Management team
The management team in TOOsonix is composed of its two founding directors.
Torsten Bove
Torsten has more than 25 years of experience in ultrasound research and manufacturing. Before co-founding TOOsonix, he was managing director at Meggitt A/S and Ferroperm Piezoceramics A/S, positions he held for more than 10 years during a period, where the company grew significantly and became one of the world’s leading suppliers of piezoelectric elements for aerospace and medical devices. Torsten holds a M.Sc. in materials science and has business diplomas from Copenhagen Business School and Oxford University. He is a LEAN champion, and has extensive practical experience with management in an international environment.
Dr. Tomasz Zawada
Tomasz has 20 years experience in aerospace and medical device industry. Before co-founding TOOsonix he was Director of Engineering and Business Development at Meggitt A/S. Tomasz has been instrumental in developing new technologies and building business partnerships that enabled significant growth for Meggitt A/S. He is the inventor of several patents and author of more than 90 scientific papers in the area of piezoelectrics, medical ultrasound, energy harvesting and ceramic microsystems. He holds a M.Sc. in computer science and a Ph.D. in microelectronics from Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland. He furthermore has an MBA degree in Management of Technology from Technical University of Denmark.
Financial foundations and Board of Directors
TOOsonix is partly owned by Consolidated Holdings A/S – one of Denmark’s most successful investor groups. Consequently the company has ensured significant financial backing and management support for the development of TOOsonix. Consolidated Holdings has significant interests in more than 15 different companies within IT, MedTech, BioTech and real-estate. It currently has a controlling ownership in companies with more than 10,000 employees in 7 different countries, and with a combined annual turnover above € 5 billion.
