Professor Jørgen Serup is Chief Physician at the Department of Dermatology and a leading expert in clinical and experimental dermatology. He has authored more than 350 scientific publications and contributed as editor to several conference proceedings and medical textbooks, and he is the founding editor of Skin Research and Technology, a peer‑reviewed journal published by John Wiley & Sons.
Professor Serup has been instrumental in the development and clinical application of high‑frequency diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound in dermatology and is widely regarded as a pioneer in ultrasound of the skin.
Owing to this unique expertise, Professor Serup has served as principal clinical investigator for TOOsonix since 2018.

Bispebjerg Hospital is a leading university hospital in the Capital Region of Denmark under the Faculty of Health Sciences. The Department of Dermatology at Bispebjerg Hospital is the largest within its field in Denmark. It is involved in diagnose, treatment and research of a broad range of dermatological disorders.
Special areas of interest include malignant and pre-malignant skin carcinomas, malignant melanoma, skin infections, hereditary and occupational skin disorders, deficiency diseases, lymphomas and skin manifestations of AIDS, including Kaposi sarcoma.
