TOOsonix gives opening keynote lecture at International Symposium

The annual International Symposium on Piezocomposite Applications (ISPA), is organized and held at the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS in Dresden, Germany. This years’s event takes place from November 6th to 8th, 2024.

ISPA 2024 brings together researchers, scientists, and industry professionals from around the world to explore and discuss the latest developments and applications in the field of piezocomposites. The symposium will feature three main research and application focuses: Energy Harvesting, HIFU Applications, and Sonar Applications.

Dr. Tomasz Zawada, Managing Director of TOOsonix, will be giving the opening keynote lecture entitled:

“Harmonically driven piezoelectrics: the enabling technology for high frequency HIFU in treatment of skin cancer and other skin conditions”.

The lecture will focus on medical application motivated development of focused ultrasonic transducers with special attention to analytical modelling of the harmonic operation using the Krimholtz-Leedom-Matthaei (KLM) approach. The presentation will show in a nutshell TOOsonix’s journey from the concept and theory to clinical application of HIFU in dermatology and oncology.
