A new paper, just published in the MDPI Journal of Clinical Medicine, demonstrates the highly successful use of TOOsonix HIFU for treating sebaceous hyperplasia – small bumps that commonly appear on the forehead, cheeks, and nose, particularly in younger women.
While generally harmless, these bumps can impact self-esteem and quality of life, especially as they often appear in visible areas.
Currently, available treatments are either ineffective or quite invasive, highlighting the need for safe, non-invasive, and effective alternatives.
This new paper reports that a single TOOsonix focused ultrasound treatment, performed in a matter of a few seconds, resulted in full resolution in 88% of cases and partial resolution in the remaining 12% – meaning improvement in all cases, with excellent aesthetic outcomes and no side effects.
