This year, the prestigious “Golden Scalpel” award was given to the research group led by Dr. Jacek Calik for their groundbreaking work on High Intensity Focused Ultrasound treatment of cancerous, inflammatory and infectious skin diseases.
The “Golden Scalpel” is a prestigious annual competition organized by the editorial office of the leading Polish medical industry magazine “Puls Medycyny”. Its aim is to promote innovators in health care and support changes that improve the quality of medical care.
The jury – composed of outstanding specialists, doctors and medical experts – evaluates and awards inventions for new diagnostic or therapeutic methods and for developing new strategies related to the organization and management of healthcare or modernizing the Polish health care system by implementing innovative global solutions.
Congratulations to Dr. Calik and his team as well as the other nine laureates receiving this prestigious award. Well done and well deserved!
